Pregnancy is one of the greater joys of a soon-to-be mom. But in spite of all these happy feelings, pregnancy also comes with a feeling of sickness, especially in the first 12 to 14 weeks (first trimester). This is called morning sickness.
I will take you through tips and tricks that will help you in managing your morning sickness.
- Identify the Triggers
The nausea that holds you might not be a random thing after all. The trick in minimizing this is to try and track what triggers this nausea. Is it a scent? Or is it the smell of a specific type of food? Try to figure it out and avoid it as much as possible.
- Stay Hydrated
Taking plenty of water seems to be the solution to quite a number of things. The good news is, it also works for morning sickness. Taking lots of water will help your stomach with empting its content, and this helps to prevent nausea.
- Get Creative with Ginger
Ginger has been described as a soother. To prevent or relieve morning sickness, take ginger regularly. You could try it with hot water or tea. You could also find a way to make a nice soup out of it!
- Distract Yourself
We get relieved of things when we forget about them or when we don’t think about them. Sometimes the thought of having morning sickness itself triggers it. The best thing to do is to get busy or get someone you can talk to about random things that will keep your mind busy.
- Get Plenty of Rest
Finally, try to get as much rest as you can everyday!
